But, as the prophet Isai foretold: the desert will bloom again: “The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.”

Chers enfants, chère famille, chers amis,

Toute à l’heure vous avez fait retentir l’hymne à la joie dans le temple.

Comme les trompettes de Jéricho avaient autrefois fait tomber des murailles, Anna et Tim, en partageant votre joie, vous avez fait tomber des frontières et aussi refleurir« Le Désert ».

La Tourbeille était dénommée le désert, parce que, comme dans les Cévennes, au temps des persécutions, les Réformés, les Huguenots s’y assemblaient nuitamment, clandestinement pour y célébrer des cultes, des baptêmes et des mariages comme aujourd’hui.

Mais, comme l’avait annoncé le prophète Esaï : le désert refleurira: “ The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.”

En choisissant ce lieu, vous faites aussi refleurir des souvenirs de la famille, dont celui de mon premier été dans cette maison que louait mon grand-père pour ses petits-enfants. J’avais 6 mois!

Mes cousines et mes sœurs s’en souviennent.

Aujourd’hui, nous avons une pensée affectueuse pour ceux qui nous ont précédés sur cette terre et qui reposent tout près d’ici.

La famille continue avec Anna et avec Toi Timothy.

Timothy, en grec, celui qui honore Dieu, baptisé par l’apôtre Paul dont tu reçus deux épîtres comme chef de la communauté d’Ephésiens, (les épîtres à Timothée).

Plus près de nous, Tim, d’autres Anglais t’ont précédé en Guyenne et, la paix revenue, continuent comme toi d’aimer ce pays tout en gardant leur volant à droite, buvant de la bière au milieu des vignes et à jouant aux fléchettes.

En rejoignant le Dordogneshire grâce à Anna, ta conduite à droite comme ton français se sont bien améliorés.

Tu viens ici avec une vocation de bâtisseur: “Builder, Hard worker, tenacious, enduring, and first of all, patient” A usefull quality!

Avant de vous féliciter, j’enfile une tunique rouge, un bonnet à poil d’ours noir avec sa jugulaire pour proclamer, en tapant du pied, comme vous le comprendrez :
